What is MS Teams?

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration platform that combines chat, video meetings, file storage, and app integration to improve communication and productivity within teams.

How is MS Teams useful?

Integrating BeyondTrust Remote Support with Microsoft Teams enables support representatives to initiate and manage support sessions directly within Teams, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency. Administrators can deploy custom support bots and prepare personalized greetings, allowing users to chat with representatives and accept session invitations directly through Teams, further improving the support experience.

How do I access the MS Teams page?

1. Use a Chromium-based browser to sign in to your Remote Support URL.
   This URL is provided in the BeyondTrust welcome email and includes your site URL followed by /login.
2. From the left menu, click Configuration.
   The Options page opens and displays by default.
3. At the top of the page, click MS Teams.
   The MS Teams page displays.

You must check Enable the Microsoft Teams Integration to view the instructions.

Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the integration.

Select a portal

If you have multiple public portals, select the portal for the integration from the Select a public site to edit dropdown. To set up Teams integration for multiple portals, repeat the process below for each portal.

Basic configuration

1. Follow the on-screen instructions, Step 1, items 1 through 7, to deploy a custom bot for your Azure tenant, and obtain the information to complete the Basic Configuration fields:
   • Application ID
   • Application Password (Optional)
2. Click Save App Config
3. Optionally, insert a Greeting of your choice and click Save.

Bot configuration

1. Follow the on-screen instructions, Step 1, item 8 to set up the Bot profile, and obtain the information to complete the Bot configuration fields:
   • Bot display name
   • Bot short name
2. Click Save Bot Config.
3. Optionally, upload a Bot icon image.
4. Click Change image to save. If not changed, the default image remains.
5. Optionally, upload a Bot icon outline image.
6. Click Change outline to save. If not changed, the default image remains.

Deploy the bot to the Microsoft Teams tenant

1. Follow the on-screen instructions, Step 2, items 1 through 4, once the configuration is complete.
2. Click Download Teams Manifest Package and upload the file to the Microsoft Teams admin center.
