What are custom links?

Custom links are URLs that administrators can create and provide access to within the representative console, allowing support users to easily access external sites during sessions. These links can lead to resources such as a knowledge base, CRM systems, or other tools that assist in resolving customer issues.

How are custom links useful?

Custom links enhance support workflows by giving representatives quick access to important external resources during customer sessions. They streamline processes like knowledge search or escalation, improving efficiency and the ability to resolve issues quickly. These links are available through the Links button in the representative console.

How do I access the Custom Links page?

  1. Use a Chromium-based browser to sign in to your Remote Support URL.
    This URL is provided in the BeyondTrust welcome email and includes your site URL followed by /login.
  2. From the left menu, click Console Settings.
    The Rep Console Settings page opens and displays by default.
  3. At the top of the page, click Custom Links.
    The Custom Links page displays.

  1. Add: Adds a new custom link.
  2. Custom Links columns: The list of Custom Links columns.

Add a custom link

  1. From the left menu, click Console Settings.
    The Rep Console Settings page opens and displays by default.
  2. At the top of the page, click Custom Links.
    The Custom Links page displays.
  3. Click + Add.
    The Add a Custom Link page displays.
  4. Enter a Name to help identify this link.
  5. Enter the URL to which this custom link should direct. Use any of the macros listed below this field in the /login page to customize the text for your purposes.
  6. Click Save at the top of the page.

Edit a custom link

  1. From the left menu, click Console Settings.
    The Rep Console Settings page opens and displays by default.
  2. At the top of the page, click Custom Links.
    The Custom Links page displays.
  3. Locate the custom link you want to edit from the list.
  4. Click .
    The Edit Custom Link page displays.
  5. Edit the Name and URL. Use any of the macros listed below the URL field in the /login page to customize the text for your purposes.
  6. Click Save at the top of the page.

Delete a custom link

  1. From the left menu, click Console Settings.
    The Rep Console Settings page opens and displays by default.
  2. At the top of the page, click Custom Links.
    The Custom Links page displays.
  3. Locate the custom link you want to delete from the list.
  4. Click to delete the custom link.
