Authentication for Password Safe

Password Safe supports Password Safe user account authentication, as well as multi-factor authentication, smart card authentication, and third-party authentication for web tools supporting the SAML 2.0 standard.

Password Safe provides authentication for user accounts found in the Password Safe database. You can create Password Safe local accounts and groups, and you can add Active Directory, Entra ID, and LDAP users and groups into Password Safe. You can apply Password Safe authentication to any of these accounts.

SAML is the only supported authentication mechanism for directory accounts.
