Account settings and preferences

Update your user information, change your password, and enable multi-factor or passwordless authentication from the Account Settings page.

Access your account settings

From the header on any page in BeyondInsight, click circular icon with an outline of a person > Account Settings.
The Account Settings page opens, and the Change Password screen displays by default.

Change or reset your password

⚠️

Important

You cannot update your password if you sign in with Active Directory, LDAP, or Entra ID credentials, or if you are locked out of your account.

Password criteria displays on-screen in the Change Password page.

  1. From the header on any page in BeyondInsight, click circular icon with an outline of a person > Account Settings.
    The Account Settings page opens , and the Change Password screen displays by default.
  2. Enter your current password.
  3. Enter a new password.
  4. Confirm the new password.
  5. Click Change Password.
    The password changes and is effective immediately.

Enable two-factor authentication

If you have two-factor authentication set up, and you have to replace the existing authentication app on your mobile device with a new one, you must reconfigure BeyondInsight for that new app.

  1. Ensure you have the new authentication app installed and enabled on your mobile device.
  2. From the header on any page in BeyondInsight, click circular icon with an outline of a person > Account Settings.
    The Account Settings page opens , and the Change Password screen displays by default.
  3. From the My Account panel, click Two-Factor Authentication.
    The Two-Factor Authentication screen displays.
  4. Click Replace Authenticator App.
    A QR code displays.
  5. Scan the QR code with your mobile device.
  6. On your mobile device, sign into your authentication app.
  7. Locate the BeyondInsight-specific code and enter it on the BeyondInsight Two-Factor Authentication screen, in the Enter Code field.
  8. Click Reconfigure Authenticator App.
    The new authentication app is configured for BeyondInsight.

Register a FIDO-2 passwordless authenticator

Important

Passwordless authentication is available only for local BeyondInsight users. Support for Active Directory, LDAP, and Entra ID directory users is not available at this time.

  1. From the header on any page in BeyondInsight, click circular icon with an outline of a person > Account Settings.
    The Account Settings page opens , and the Change Password screen displays by default.
  2. From the My Account panel, click Passwordless Authentication.
    The Authenticators screen displays.
  3. On the Authenticators screen, click Register FIDO2 Authenticator.
    A panel slides out on the right.
  4. Enter a unique name.
  5. Enter your BeyondInsight password.
  6. Select one of the following authenticator types:
    1. Roaming: Creates a passkey for your device. Use this for external FIDO2 security devices (such as YubiKeys or mobile devices). When selected, these devices are reusable across multiple devices.
    2. Platform: Creates a passkey on your local machine. Use this for integrated, FIDO2-certified biometric authenticators (such as Touch ID or Windows Hello). When selected, this authenticator can only be used by this machine, on this browser.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the registration.

Change your display theme

  1. From the header on any page in BeyondInsight, click circular icon with an outline of a person.
    The Manage profile menu displays.
  2. In the Theme drop-down, select BeyondTrust Brand Colors, Dark Mode Colors, or Match System Theme.
    The theme changes immediately.

Change your display language

  1. From the header on any page in BeyondInsight, click circular icon with an outline of a person.
    The Manage profile menu displays.
  2. In the Language drop-down, select a supported language from the list.
    The display language updates immediately, and the theme resets to BeyondTrust Brand Colors.

Sign out of BeyondInsight

From the header on any page in BeyondInsight, click circular icon with an outline of a person > Log out.
You are immediately signed out of BeyondInsight. We recommend you close your browser.
