Set up GitHub Copilot metrics | Insights

If your organization uses GitHub Copilot and you want to collect metrics, activate the Copilot metrics policy.

Prerequisites

Before you set up GitHub Copilot metrics collection, ensure the following requirements are met.

GitHub access

• You have enterprise owner permissions in your GitHub Enterprise account.
• Your organization uses GitHub Copilot (a Copilot subscription is active).

Identity Security Insights access

• You have administrator access to Identity Security Insights.
• The GitHub connector is configured and active.

Activate Copilot metrics

1. Sign in to GitHub with an account that has enterprise owner permissions.
2. In the top-right corner of GitHub, click your profile picture.
3. Select the enterprise you want to manage.
4. At the top of the Enterprise page, click the Policies tab (sometimes shown as law Policies).
5. In the Policies section, click Copilot.
6. On the GitHub Copilot page, click the Policies tab.
7. Locate and activate the policy for the Copilot Metrics API.
