Base 8.0.0 release notes
September 9, 2025
🆕New features and enhancements
Automatic updates
You now have the option to manual schedule a maintenance window to schedule your updates to the appliance form the Appliance > Updates > Updates page.

Configure email using default email gateway (Cloud and Pathfinder only)
This feature is not available for Remote Support or Privileged Remote Access on-premises.
You can now use settings from a BeyondTrust hosted email gateway, there is no need to manually enter SMTP Relay Server details.
Go to the Appliance > Security > Email Configuration page.

System Firewall
This feature allows you to manually configure or add a list of networks to the block list.
Go to Appliance > Security > Firewall page. Add your networks to the Drop Traffic section.

FIPS 140-3 compliance
Remote Support (RS) and Privileged Remote Access (PRA) starting with version 25.2.1 and base 8.0 use OpenSSL 3.1 when in FIPS mode for cryptographic functions. The OpenSSL FIPS Provider is validated to FIPS 140‑3 (Certificate #4985, 03/11/2025). When RS or PRA are configured to operate with this provider in FIPS mode, they meet FIPS 140‑3 requirements for cryptographic modules.
FIPS 140‑2 validations remain active until they move to the Historical List on September 21, 2026.
For more information, see FIPS 140-3.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled for local users (On-premises only)
You can enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for local users on the Users > Users page.

Manually set password (On-premises only)
On new SRA sites only, when you download an installation package and then run Setup, you now have the ability to manually set your password, instead of using the pre-configured default password.
