Endpoint Privilege Management for Mac 24.5.2 release notes

September 26, 2024

Requirements

  • Trellix (formerly McAfee) Agent (required if you are installing the Privilege Management client with Trellix).

Issues resolved

DescriptionResolution
The EndpointSecurity System Extension can be disabled in System Settings (Login Items & Extensions) on macOS Sequoia by real admins or users with permissive EPM-M Policies. We updated the configuration profile to resolve this issue. We recommend the new version of the MDM Configuration Profile v2.2.1 is scoped only to macOS Sequoia installations. This ensures the new payload in the configuration profile is not lost during upgrades to macOS Sequoia.
Our _avectodaemon and _defendpoint users were being removed post-upgrade to macOS Sequoia, affecting functionality of EPM-M.The users are no longer removed.
Applications on macOS Sequoia are not being displayed in the foreground. We mitigated this in product so that applications appear in the foreground.
This is due to changes by Apple. We created a feedback assistant ticket with Apple: FB15043101
The EPM Adapter and Package Manager displayed the macOS endpoints on Sequoia as macOS 15.0.0.The endpoints are now labelled macOS Sequoia.
Machines connected to BeyondInsight could not retrieve policy if the EPM-M client is installed after the BI Adapter.
