✨ Enhancements

Support for time zones added by Windows updates, including the 2026 Alberta time zone change

From November 1, 2026, Alberta remains on UTC-06:00 permanently. Microsoft delivers this change as a new Windows time zone, (UTC-06:00) Mountain Time (Alberta), in the October 2026 Windows cumulative update. The same update also adds new time zones for British Columbia and Manitoba.

The Date and Time page in the U-Series Appliance web console now builds its time zone list from the time zones installed on the appliance operating system, instead of from a fixed list. Time zones added by Windows updates now appear and can be selected. In addition:

  • Dates and times on the Date and Time, Security Updates, Cold Spare, and Backup pages display correctly for the new time zones.
  • The time zone list is sorted by the UTC offset shown in each time zone name, so (UTC-06:00) Mountain Time (Alberta) appears with the other UTC-06:00 time zones.
  • The Time Zone field is read-only and displays a loading message while the list of time zones loads.
  • For time zones that do not observe daylight saving time, such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, the daylight saving time switch is hidden.
  • Security update schedules offer the Appliance time zone option only when the browser can convert the time zone of every selected appliance. This prevents updates from being scheduled at the wrong time.
ℹ️

The new time zones appear only on appliances that have the October 2026 Windows cumulative update installed.

🛠️ Issues resolved

IssueResolution
On a SQL Free appliance, when the Configuration Wizard was set to Create the Remote Database, applying features failed for BeyondTrust Discovery Agent. Retrying failed with the same error.Creating a remote BeyondInsight database from the Configuration Wizard on a SQL Free appliance now completes, and the Discovery Agent feature applies successfully.

📝 Requirements

  • .NET 8.0 or later (available through BT Updater via Supporting Software SUPI subscription)
  • SUPI 3.3.2 (available through BT Updater)
  • Upgrade to 4.6.4 from a supported prior U-Series Appliance software version.
  • In a High Availability pair, upgrade both appliances to 4.6.4.
❗

Important

Remote appliances set to a new time zone

Security update times for a remote appliance come from that appliance's SUPI, not from its U-Series Appliance version. Before you set a remote appliance to one of the new time zones, such as (UTC-06:00) Mountain Time (Alberta), either upgrade the remote appliance's SUPI to 3.3.6, or upgrade every appliance that manages its security updates to 4.6.4.

Until the remote appliance's SUPI is upgraded, appliances running 4.6.4 show its security update times in the browser's time zone and schedule its updates in browser time. Appliances running 4.6.3 or earlier might fail to display the Security Updates page correctly for that appliance.
